Practising Privileges & Clinical Governance
Array
At Array, patient safety, clinical excellence, and regulatory compliance are at the core of everything we do. Our services operate within a robust clinical governance framework in line with the standards expected by the Regulation and Quality Improvement Authority (RQIA) in Northern Ireland.
What Are Practising Privileges?
Practising privileges are formal authorisations granted by Array to suitably qualified healthcare professionals, allowing them to deliver clinical care within our facilities under our governance framework.
Clinicians who hold practising privileges are not necessarily employees of the clinic; however, they are approved to practise at Array following a structured credentialing and governance process.
This ensures that all practitioners working within our clinic meet the same high standards of safety, competence, and professionalism.
Our Commitment to Safe Practice
Before practising privileges are granted, Array carries out a comprehensive credentialing process, including:
Verification of professional registration (e.g. GMC, NMC or relevant regulatory body)
Confirmation of specialist qualifications and scope of practice
Review of training and clinical experience
Confirmation of valid professional indemnity insurance
References and appraisal history (where applicable)
Confirmation of fitness to practise
Practising privileges are subject to ongoing review and are aligned with the treatments and procedures the clinician is authorised to perform within the clinic.
Clinical Governance & Oversight
All clinicians practising at Array work within our established clinical governance systems, which include:
Documented policies and procedures
Infection prevention and control standards
Incident reporting and risk management processes
Patient consent protocols
Audit and quality improvement measures
Complaints and feedback procedures
These systems ensure safe, consistent, and high-quality care for every patient.
RQIA Registration
Where applicable, services provided at Array coperate within an RQIA-registered independent healthcare setting. We adhere to the standards required for inspection, governance, and safe delivery of care in Northern Ireland.
Our governance structure ensures that:
Treatments are delivered by appropriately qualified professionals
Equipment is maintained and operated safely
Patient records are securely stored and managed
Clinical environments meet required safety standards

When you attend Array, you can be confident that:
Your treatment is delivered by a fully vetted and appropriately registered healthcare professional

Scope of Practising Privileges
Practising privileges apply only to approved treatments within the clinician’s defined scope of practice and within the services provided by Array. Any expansion of clinical scope requires formal review and approval.
Ongoing Review
Array regularly reviews practising privileges to ensure continued compliance with regulatory standards, professional registration requirements, and internal governance procedures.
