Award-Winning Aesthetic Care, and Why It Matters

/

There is a difference between a clinic that performs treatments and a clinic that understands when, how, and on whom those treatments should be performed. In an industry that has grown faster than its regulation, that distinction is often only obvious to patients in hindsight, usually when they come to us asking for correction or reassurance after treatment elsewhere.

Array Aesthetics has been named Best Clinic Ireland & Northern Ireland at The Aesthetics Awards three years running: in 2023, 2024 and 2026. The category was sponsored and supported by a different industry partner each year, with the award presented as the John Bannon Pharmacy Award in 2023, the Alma Award in 2024, and the InMode Award in 2026.

Three independent judging panels. Three competitive shortlists. The same outcome.

This is not a marketing badge. It reflects how we assess patients, how we plan treatment, and how we follow up, repeated consistently over time. The Aesthetics Awards is the longest-standing awards ceremony in UK medical aesthetics, and our 2026 win was also featured in The Tweakments Guide's coverage of the night

This post explains what consistent recognition means in practice, and why it should matter to anyone choosing where to be treated.

A doctor-led clinic, in the literal sense

Array is co-founded and led by two GMC-registered medical doctors.

Dr Chris Hutton (MB BCh BAO, QUB; PGCert Aesthetic Medicine, Queen Mary University of London; GMC 7039324) trained in medicine at Queen's University Belfast in 2009 and has performed over 10,000 injectable procedures across the past decade. He is a trainer and innovation partner with Merz Aesthetics, providing education to medical professionals across the UK and Ireland.

Dr Judith "Jude" Storm (MBChB, Edinburgh; MRCP; GMC 7070591) qualified at the University of Edinburgh in 2010 and worked as a hospital registrar until moving fully into aesthetic medicine in 2018. She holds a postgraduate certificate in education from Queen's University Belfast and has acted as an examiner for postgraduate medical college exams.

Together, Chris and Jude also co-founded Array Academy, a private aesthetic training school operating across the UK and Ireland, where they teach the same standards they apply in clinic.

The reason this matters is straightforward. Every treatment plan at Array is shaped by clinical judgement, not by what a patient walks in asking for. That sometimes means we recommend a different treatment to the one a patient expected. Occasionally it means we recommend no treatment at all.

What "doctor-led" actually changes

In an unregulated market, it is reasonable to ask what a doctor brings to the room that a non-medical practitioner does not. The honest answer is not skill with a needle, since many practitioners are technically capable. The difference is upstream of the treatment itself:

  • Medical assessment. Recognising contraindications, medication interactions, and underlying conditions that change whether a treatment is appropriate.

  • Anatomical depth. Procedures from anti-wrinkle injections to blepharoplasty depend on a working understanding of facial anatomy that comes from medical training, not weekend courses.

  • Knowing when to stop. A doctor-led clinic is structured to say no, whether to over-treatment, to unsuitable candidates, or to procedures that will not deliver what a patient is hoping for.

  • Managing complications. Rare events become much rarer with proper assessment, and far more manageable when they do occur.

This applies across our service range, including anti-wrinkle treatment, dermal filler and full-face rejuvenation, Morpheus8, FaceTite and Necktite, blepharoplasty, vascular and vein procedures, laser and light treatment, skin protocols, and menopause and wellness care.

Regulated, not just recognised

Awards reflect peer and industry judgement. Regulation reflects something more fundamental.

Array Aesthetics is regulated by the Regulation and Quality Improvement Authority (RQIA), Northern Ireland's independent body for inspecting and regulating health and social care services. RQIA registration is not a marketing claim. It is a legal framework with inspections, standards, and accountability behind it.

For patients, the combination matters. Regulation sets the floor. Recognition over multiple years suggests we operate above it.

What this should mean for your decision

If you are comparing clinics, the practical questions are simple:

  • Who, by name, will be assessing and treating you, and what are their medical qualifications?

  • Is the clinic regulated by an appropriate body?

  • What is the consultation process before any treatment is agreed?

  • Has the clinic's standard of care been independently recognised over time, not just once?

For Array, the answers are on the record. Dr Chris Hutton and Dr Jude Storm lead the clinical work. The clinic is RQIA-regulated. Every treatment is preceded by consultation. And the Aesthetics Awards have named Array Best Clinic Ireland & Northern Ireland in 2023, 2024 and 2026.

Booking a consultation

Consultation is the starting point for every treatment journey at Array. It is the conversation in which we understand what you are looking for, assess whether the treatments you are considering are right for you, and tell you honestly if they are not.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I choose the right aesthetic clinic in Belfast?

Look for clear medical leadership (named, GMC-registered doctors), regulatory oversight (RQIA in Northern Ireland), a structured consultation process, and a track record of independent recognition. Before-and-after images alone are not a reliable proxy for clinical standards.

Is a doctor-led clinic safer?

Doctor-led clinics offer medical assessment, deeper anatomical training, and the ability to manage rare complications if they occur. This matters more in an industry where regulation is uneven across providers.

Do awards guarantee better results?

No award guarantees a specific outcome. Repeat recognition in the same competitive category, such as winning Best Clinic Ireland & Northern Ireland three years running, is a far stronger signal than a one-off win, because it reflects sustained standards across multiple independent judging panels rather than a single submission.

What treatments does Array Aesthetics offer?

Array offers a full range of medical aesthetic and minor surgical services, including anti-wrinkle treatment, dermal filler and full-face rejuvenation, Morpheus8, FaceTite and Necktite, blepharoplasty, vascular and vein procedures, laser and light treatment, skin protocols, and menopause and wellness care. Every treatment is preceded by a consultation to confirm suitability.

Where is Array Aesthetics based?

Array Aesthetics is based at 665 Lisburn Road, Belfast, BT9 7GT, and is regulated by the Regulation and Quality Improvement Authority (RQIA), Northern Ireland's independent body for health and social care.

The best aesthetic results are quiet ones. They look like you, on a good day. If that is what you are looking for, we would be glad to help.
